·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ holds first virtual legacy information evening with ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ performers and senior leaders

The Royal College of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ has held its first virtual event for those interested in legacy giving, which plays a crucial role in helping the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ secure the future of music for generations to come.
Legacy gifts have had a transformational impact on the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ in the past decade, contributing 34% of what we have raised so far through the More ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Campaign and funding around a third of our existing named scholarships.
The event was hosted by ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Chairman Lord Black of Brentwood, and included a presentation by Professor Colin Lawson CBE F·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ, Director of the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ, on the lasting impact of gifts in Wills and future plans and priorities for the College. ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ scholars past and present spoke to leadership supporters Jane Barker CBE F·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ and Victoria, Lady Robey OBE Hon·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ, about the significant impact their scholarships have had on their professional and personal lives.
Victoria, Lady Robey commented: ‘It has been a privilege to watch young people grow with the support of my scholarship and it is wonderful to know that I can continue to help the next generation through a gift in my Will.’
·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ alumna and former scholar Julieth Lozano, originally from Colombia and now based in London, commented: ‘The full scholarship I received from the Royal College of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ changed my life completely.’
The event also featured a brief presentation by solicitor Iain Wanstall about the logistics of making a Will and the option of making a ‘Will for Good’ via the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ’s free Will-writing service, .
